The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has declared its intention to use a new strategic model to promote national stability leading up to the 2027 general elections.
The agency will deploy the Structures, Platforms, Strategies, and Coordination (SPSC) Framework, a model introduced by the Director-General, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu. The framework is designed to provide a coordinated approach to public orientation and conflict mitigation during the upcoming political cycle.
The commitment was articulated by the Acting Director of the NOA Bauchi State office, Adamu Umar Sarkinyara, during his investiture as an Ambassador of Peace, as part of the reaffirmed commitment to peacebuilding for the 2027 elections.
Deployment of the SPSC Framework
The SPSC Framework aims to move the agency beyond traditional public announcements towards structured engagement with various social sectors. By leveraging specific platforms and coordination strategies, the NOA intends to address potential triggers of electoral violence before they escalate.
The framework focuses on creating organised structures at the grassroots level to monitor public sentiment and disseminate accurate information. This approach is intended to counter the spread of misinformation and inflammatory rhetoric that often characterises election seasons in Nigeria.
The Bauchi State office, under Sarkinyara’s leadership, is expected to implement these coordination efforts, ensuring that directives from the national headquarters are translated into actionable community engagement programmes.
As Nigeria prepares for the next political cycle, the NOA’s role in social orientation is critical. The agency is tasked with aligning public consciousness with national interests, a duty that becomes particularly sensitive as political actors begin mobilisation for 2027.
The agency is now expected to begin the rollout of specific training and coordination modules to its various state offices to prepare field officers for the upcoming electoral period.
