The President Asiwaju Loyalist Ladies (PALL) has donated 3,000 books to Local Education Authority (LEA) primary schools within the Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The donation is intended to provide essential learning materials to pupils in the area.
Mrs Abiola Obaogun Towobola, the President of PALL, led the presentation of the books to the Chairman of the Kwali Area Council, Hon. Nuhu Daniel Kwali. The group’s intervention focuses on supporting the educational needs of students in public primary schools managed by the LEA.
The handover of the instructional materials follows growing calls for increased support for public education in the FCT’s outlying areas. By providing these books, the group aims to address the shortage of reading resources that many students in the council face.
Resource challenges in FCT LEA schools
Local Education Authority (LEA) schools serve as the primary source of basic education for many communities across the FCT. However, these institutions frequently operate with limited instructional tools, including textbooks and reading materials, which can impact literacy levels among pupils.
The donation of 3,000 books to Kwali Area Council schools provides a direct contribution to the academic environment in the council. The distribution of these materials is expected to assist teachers in delivering curriculum content more effectively to their students.
Mrs Towobola indicated that the donation was part of the group’s commitment to community development and educational support. The President Asiwaju Loyalist Ladies (PALL) has positioned this act as a way to encourage a reading culture among young learners in the Kwali community.
Hon. Nuhu Daniel Kwali, receiving the books on behalf of the council, acknowledged the contribution to the local education sector. The provision of such materials is critical for maintaining educational standards in the area council’s public institutions.
The next stage of the initiative involves the systematic distribution of the books to the various LEA primary schools across the Kwali Area Council to ensure they reach the intended pupils. Local education officials will oversee the delivery of the materials to the respective school heads.
