Premier League Giants Try to Snatch Lookman from Inter Milan
Ademola Lookman’s future is suddenly wide open again and Arsenal are looking to take full advantage.
After weeks of reports linking the Super Eagles star with a move to Inter Milan, the deal now appears to be in danger of collapse. Inter have struggled to meet Atalanta’s €50 million valuation, and now Arsenal are circling, ready to swoop in and hijack the transfer.
Lookman, who had a stunning 2024/2025 season with Atalanta scoring 20 goals and providing 7 assists has reportedly submitted a formal transfer request, signaling his intent to leave the Italian club. But while Inter Milan had hoped to finalise the move,
Atalanta’s reluctance to sell to a domestic rival is proving to be a major stumbling block.
That situation could work perfectly in Arsenal’s favour. The Gunners, still active in the market after signing several new players this summer, are now eyeing Lookman as a key addition to their attack.
Manager Mikel Arteta is said to be in search of a natural left winger, and the 2024 CAF Player of the Year is emerging as a top target.
Lookman is no stranger to the Premier League. Having previously played for Everton, Fulham, and Leicester, he’s well aware of the league’s demands and Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes the winger still has more to prove in England.
On his podcast, Wright called Lookman a “top player” and hinted that he has “unfinished business” in the league.
Inter Milan aren’t giving up just yet. They’ve agreed personal terms with the Nigerian international and are preparing a fresh offer that includes bonuses. But if they fail to match Atalanta’s full asking price and if Arsenal move quickly with a decisive bid, the deal could slip away from the Italian side.
For Lookman, the chance to join Arsenal at a time when the club is pushing for titles under Arteta’s leadership could be too tempting to ignore.
With Atalanta reportedly more open to selling him abroad, and Arsenal having the financial power to meet the valuation, the stage is set for a dramatic transfer twist.
