Professor Abdulmumeen Olayinka Ajia, the governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kwara State, has officially launched his campaign for the 2027 general elections. The announcement was made during a gathering of party supporters and loyalists at the Oja Oba area in Ilorin on Wednesday.
Ajia, who is a university lecturer of Business Administration based in the United States, intends to leverage his professional background to influence the political direction of the state. The campaign kickoff marks one of the earliest formal entries into the race for the Kwara State Government House.
The move by the NDC candidate signals an attempt to broaden the political contest in Kwara, a state that has traditionally been dominated by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
