Rashidi Ladoja to Be Crowned 44th Olubadan September 26, 2025
Oba Rashidi Ladoja is set to ascend the throne as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, September 26, 2025. His nomination has received official approval from Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, marking a significant moment in Ibadan’s traditional history.
Ahead of the historic coronation, a state delegation visited Ladoja and other members of the Olubadan-In-Council at his Bodija residence to finalise preparations for the event.
A media aide to the Olubadan-designate, Adeola Oloko, confirmed the development:
“Oba Ladoja will be enthroned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, September 26, 2025. The coronation ceremony will take place at the historic Mapo Hall in Ibadan, the state capital.”
Earlier, Ladoja had met with kingmakers at his residence to discuss final arrangements for the coronation. The event is expected to draw dignitaries, traditional rulers, and political leaders across Nigeria.
