The Truth about Melinda French’s Dating Update

Billionaire Melinda French (Gates, if you like) was supposed to have been engaged in late April. Swallow that if you follow those celeb-stalking blogs that announced the engagement days ago. Just because of an expensive rock candy she wore on her engagement ring finger. The gawker who saw her coming down a chopper in New York then concluded her boyfriend Jon Du Pre gave her.

No way.

Her media handler told Page Six when the rumour nearly choked her Pre never engaged her. Badder still, the relationship with the 65 year-old former broadcaster—she’s chugged it.

Following the media storm of her divorce from billionaire Bill Gates in 2021, the news of her romance with Pre broke in 2022. Melinda said during an interview she was ‘dipping her toes into the dating scene again’. At 57. 

Age is a number, though.

Her ex, Bill, 68, has been going steady with his new catch Paula, 61, a widow of Mark Hurd, the late CEO of Oracle. 

It seems the men among the billionaire couples who grow apart from their wives find it easy to hitch up again. McKenzie Scott, the billionaire wife of the world’s third richest man, hasn’t found love yet. Maybe her philanthropy still consumes her. But her ex, Jeff Bezos, has spliced up with another woman. And their romance sizzles for now. There goes the prolific Elon Musk, too.  His fourth wife, Canadian singer Grimes, left in 2022, after giving birth to a child. And the second richest man alive wasted little time worming his way into his Neuralink’s Director of Operations Shivon Zilis.

Most of Musk’s exes never struck pay dirt in their divorce. Unlike Melinda and McKenzie who stand $128- and $40.6-billion rich respectively.
