Tinubu’s Govt Hijacked by Thieves – Ali Ndume

Senator Ali Ndume, the Senate Chief Whip and a prominent member of the ruling party, APC, has made disturbing claims regarding President Bola Tinubu, stating that the President has lost touch with the reality of Nigeria’s situation.

Ndume asserted that the President is surrounded and controlled by individuals he describes as Kakistocrats and Kleptocrats.

What is Kakistocracy and Kleptocracy?

Kakistocracy is a system where the least capable or most unethical citizens govern, while kleptocracy refers to a government in which corrupt officials abuse their power to steal the nation’s wealth, often by embezzling or misusing public funds, harming the general populace.

Ali Ndume’s concerns

In an interview on Arise News, Ndume explained that while Tinubu has good intentions with the Renewed Hope agenda, his advisers are preventing well-meaning people from communicating the true state of the nation to him.

In his words:

“This government is going down…now we have a big challenge, and that’s hunger and food scarcity. This is a very serious and scary situation. And why I’m so scared is if those in power don’t allow the President to know the magnitude so that they can do something, then that’s scary.

“In every government, it’s like that. You have the gatekeepers – those who want the government to know everything and to have other opinions or encourage those that matter in the government to come over…During Buhari’s administration, which I thought wasn’t that good, but if you compare this (Tinubu’s govt.) to Buhari’s regime, you’ll give Buhari a thumbs up.”

He further mentioned that there are ministers who do not have access to President Tinubu unless they are invited, stating his duty to speak on behalf of the people as a senator.

Ndume also raised concerns about top government officials who believe that the public’s outcry over hunger is orchestrated by the opposition. He warned that violent protests could erupt and escalate rapidly before the government acknowledges the severity of the situation, by which time it might be too late.
