Transcorp Hotels Boosts Q3 2026 Profit to ₦22.5 Billion Amid Margin Growth

Transcorp Hotels Plc (NGX: TRANSCOHOT), the hospitality arm of Transnational Corporation Plc (Transcorp Group), has reported a significant increase in its Profit Before Tax (PBT) for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026, reaching ₦22.5 billion. This marks a 1% rise from the ₦22.4 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025, underscoring the company’s sustained growth trajectory in Nigeria’s competitive hospitality sector.

The company’s unaudited financial results also highlighted widened profit margins and robust growth in Profit After Tax (PAT). Total revenue for the quarter surged to ₦70.3 billion, an impressive 8% increase compared to ₦65.1 billion in Q3 2025. This revenue growth was a primary driver behind the enhanced profitability figures.

Profit After Tax for the period reached ₦15.2 billion, up from ₦14.8 billion in Q3 2025, representing a 2.7% year-on-year increase. The positive performance reflects the strategic operational efficiencies implemented across its properties and a resilient recovery in the travel and tourism industry.

Transcorp Hotels operates Transcorp Hilton Abuja and Transcorp Hotels Calabar, prominent establishments in the Nigerian hospitality landscape. The company attributed its strong financial results to increased occupancy rates, particularly at its flagship Transcorp Hilton Abuja, and an improved Average Daily Rate (ADR) across its portfolio. Strategic investments in guest experience and digital transformation initiatives have also contributed to the enhanced operational performance.

Mrs. Dupe Olusola, Managing Director/CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc, expressed satisfaction with the results, stating, “Our Q3 2026 performance demonstrates the effectiveness of our ongoing strategies aimed at optimising our assets and delivering unparalleled guest experiences. We have continued to navigate dynamic market conditions by focusing on operational excellence, innovation, and disciplined cost management, which has led to consistent margin expansion.”

Strategic Investments and Market Resilience Fueling Growth

The growth reported by Transcorp Hotels comes amidst ongoing efforts to expand its footprint and enhance its service offerings. The company has been actively investing in the renovation and upgrading of its existing facilities, ensuring they meet global standards and cater to the evolving demands of both business and leisure travellers. These investments are crucial in maintaining its competitive edge and attracting a diverse clientele.

The Nigerian hospitality sector has shown remarkable resilience, recovering steadily from global and domestic economic shocks. Transcorp Hotels has been a beneficiary of this recovery, capitalising on increased domestic tourism and a resurgence in business travel. Its properties remain a preferred choice for high-profile events, conferences, and international visitors, contributing significantly to its revenue streams.

Furthermore, the company’s commitment to sustainability and local content initiatives has resonated positively with stakeholders, reinforcing its brand reputation. Transcorp Hotels’ strategic focus extends beyond traditional hospitality, with plans to explore new ventures that complement its core business and leverage its established brand equity.
