US Delivers Military Supplies to Nigeria Following Sokoto Airstrike
The Nigerian Army has received vital military supplies from the United States as part of President Donald Trump’s commitment to further support Nigeria’s counterterrorism efforts.
The U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) announced the equipment delivery on Tuesday in a post on X. AFRICOM said the delivery is intended to bolster Nigeria’s internal security.
The shipment comes after the surprise Christmas Day airstrike by the US forces against ISWAP terrorists in Sokoto, northern Nigeria. President Trump had warned of further military actions against the terrorists accused of targeting Christians.
“At the direction of the President of the United States and the Secretary of War, and in coordination with Nigerian authorities, U.S. Africa Command conducted strikes against ISIS terrorists in Nigeria on Dec. 25, 2025, in Sokoto State,” AFRICOM tweeted after the airstrike that killed an unverified number of terrorists.
