UAC of Nigeria Foods Profit Drops 39% in 2025 Despite Strong Revenue Growth

UAC Foods Plc posted a 39 percent decline in profit for the 2025 financial year, even though the company recorded a sharp rise in revenue during the same period.

According to its audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2025, profit fell to N9.91 billion from N16.31 billion recorded in 2024.

Profit before tax also dropped by 36 percent to N16.43 billion, compared with N25.55 billion in the previous year. The decline was largely linked to a steep rise in finance costs.

The company’s net finance cost stood at N15.50 billion in 2025, a major reversal from the net finance income of N5.96 billion posted in 2024.

Despite the weaker bottom line, UAC Foods recorded strong growth in turnover. Revenue increased by 73 percent to N340.47 billion, up from N196.90 billion in 2024.

Operating profit also improved significantly, rising by 51 percent to N28.49 billion from N18.87 billion in the previous year. This points to stronger performance in the company’s core operations.

Total equity rose by 5 percent to N69.77 billion in 2025, compared with N66.41 billion in 2024. Meanwhile, total equity and liabilities jumped sharply to N597.06 billion from N157.73 billion.

Cash and cash equivalents also increased, climbing by 25 percent to N50.91 billion from N40.59 billion in the previous year.

Earnings per share fell by 27 percent to 362 kobo, down from 497 kobo in 2024.

At the same time, the company’s market capitalisation rose strongly by 189 percent to N266.28 billion, compared with N92.17 billion recorded a year earlier.
