Governor Umo Eno has dismissed reports suggesting a political rift between himself and his predecessor, Emmanuel Udom, stating that political differences will not compromise their relationship.
The Akwa Ibom State Governor clarified that certain individuals are attempting to create division through falsehoods and unsubstantiated claims. He maintained that these efforts are aimed at destabilising the political atmosphere in the state.
Eno’s remarks come as political actors in Akwa Ibom begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections. The Governor asserted that the attempts to portray a breakdown in his relationship with Udom are part of a larger strategy to sow discord within the ruling party.
This clarification is seen as a move to reassure the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) faithful and prevent unnecessary factionalism within the ranks.
