Voltron Capital Launches to Fund Startups Across Africa

Today, Africa welcomes a new venture capital firm, Voltron Capital which will focus on funding startups from Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya and North America.

Founded by Nigerian angel investor and entrepreneur, Olumide Soyombo and US based entrepreneur Abe Choi, the firm is one more light on the horizon for aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage startups in Africa. Olumide who started funding early-stage startups in 2014, hs invested in 33 African startups including Paystack, Piggyvest and TeamApt.

Voltron will be funding about 30 businesses across Africa, primarily in the pre-seed and seed stages, in a bid to address the incredibly slow rate of early-stage investment for African tech companies. The ticket prices will vary between $20,000 and $100,000.
