What’s the Official Age You Should Leave Your Parents’ House? Watch These 2 Ladies Argue it Out

In Episode 6 of “The Official Age of Leaving Your Parents’ House” on The Straitup Podcast, Blackskin Gurl and Denny get into a heated argument about the overdependence and entitlement mentality of young people in Africa, unlike their counterparts in the West who essentially start catering for themselves by age 18.

“I don’t think there should be an age limit. I feel like we never stop depending on our parents in life. If you cannot afford to fend for yourself at Age 40, do you want to kill yourself? Do you want to steal? You should stay in your parents’ house until you can,” Denny argues.

On the contrary, Black skin Gurl believes that line of thought is lame and irresponsible. “There should be a specific age at which a child should leave his parents’ house. You don’t give humans that kind of ‘open cheque’ privilege to leave anytime. At most, 30, you should leave even if you must stay on the street,” she asserted.
