How ‘Yahoo Girl’ Murdered Lover in Imo Over Sharing of Fraud Proceeds

A 27-year-old Nigerian woman, Oluchi Nzemechi, has been arrested in Imo State, after allegedly stabbing her partner, Kelechi Nzemechi, to death.
Oluchi, from Uzoagba in the Ikeduru Local Government Area, confessed to the police that she and Kelechi, 31, were involved in internet fraud, commonly known as ‘Yahoo yahoo’.
She claimed that Kelechi had introduced her to the fraudulent activities.
The conflict between the couple began on Sunday over the sharing of the money they had fraudulently obtained from a victim in Indonesia, amounting to 250 million Rupiah.
Oluchi accused Kelechi of not sharing the proceeds with her.

During the heated argument, Oluchi allegedly stabbed Kelechi in the upper body with a kitchen knife.
She then left a cover-up note on his body, which read, “You think you can eat my money and go free, I am baba for the boys, I am coming for your wife and your child including your family,” before fleeing the scene.
Oluchi and Kelechi have a child together, and they have been living together since 2019.
Police spokesperson, ASP Henry Okoye, stated that Oluchi would be taken to court following the completion of the investigation.
Efforts are underway to recover the 250 million Rupiah to return it to its rightful owner.
Oluchi is being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department as the investigation continues.
