2Baba-Men Can Love One Woman but Can’t Stay Sexually Faithful

Legendary singer 2Baba recently stirred a big debate when he said men are not built to stay sexually loyal to one partner. He spoke on the 234 Mzansi Podcast with host Nedu, where he made a clear difference between emotional and physical loyalty.

“A man’s heart and love can belong to one woman, but sexually, it’s impossible,” he said. “It’s the biology of man. You can love one woman, but sexual satisfaction needs are many;  you can’t limit that to just one partner.”

His comments come soon after he announced the end of his 12-year marriage to actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia, whom he wed in 2012 and with whom he has two children.

Both said they tried their best, but it “just wasn’t working anymore.” He is now linked to Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, showing he has moved on in his personal life.

By blaming biology instead of choice, 2Baba challenges the usual view that unfaithfulness is simply wrong. Some say this risks excusing bad behaviour, but others believe talking about natural needs can lead to more honest partnerships.

Family therapist Chioma Okoye says, “Knowing each other’s needs can help couples talk more openly. But biology should never replace trust or respect.”
