The total capital injection was spread across 44 funding rounds. To be included in this figure, each round had to consist of $100,000 or more.

This July performance represents a seven-year low for equity funding in the African startup ecosystem. According to data reported by Nairametrics, it is the lowest monthly funding total recorded since March 2025.

The decline highlights a challenging environment for venture-backed companies seeking equity capital to scale operations.
