Africa’s Top 10 Biggest Streamers in 2026
Africa’s livestreaming industry is no longer limited to small gaming communities. Streamers from Nigeria, Morocco, Egypt and South Africa are building large audiences on Twitch and Kick through gaming, celebrity interviews, sports commentary, comedy and interactive entertainment.
Based on primary-platform follower numbers checked in July 2026, Morocco’s Ilyas El Maliki remains Africa’s biggest streamer, followed by Nigeria’s Carter Efe. Nigerian creators dominate the wider ranking, reflecting the country’s growing influence in Africa’s creator economy.
There is no official platform-neutral ranking covering every African streamer. This list, therefore, uses each creator’s largest Twitch or Kick channel as the main measurement. Followers are not the same as average viewers or earnings, but they provide the clearest publicly available basis for comparison.
1. Ilyas El Maliki — Morocco
Ilyas El Maliki leads the ranking with approximately 884,800 followers on Kick. The Moroccan creator built his following through football commentary, reaction streams and gaming content delivered mainly in Moroccan Darija.
His influence extends beyond conventional gaming. El Maliki attracted international attention through his involvement in the Kings World Cup Nations and has repeatedly drawn large audiences for football-related broadcasts. His ability to connect with North African viewers in a local language gives him one of the continent’s most committed streaming communities.
2. Carter Efe — Nigeria
Carter Efe has grown to approximately 714,900 Twitch followers, making him the most-followed Africa-based creator on the platform and Nigeria’s biggest livestreaming personality.
Originally known for comedy and music, Carter transformed his existing entertainment profile into a livestreaming business. His broadcasts combine celebrity appearances, comedy, conversations and unpredictable audience interactions. A high-profile stream with Davido accelerated his growth and helped establish celebrity collaborations as a major part of Nigeria’s streaming formula.
3. Shank Comics — Nigeria
Shank Comics ranks third with about 272,000 followers on Twitch. He was one of the first Nigerian entertainers to treat livestreaming as a major content format rather than an occasional extension of social media.
His streams blend gaming, storytelling, comedy and “Just Chatting” sessions. His participation in Kai Cenat’s Streamer University increased his international visibility and helped position him as one of the pioneers of Nigeria’s current streaming boom.
4. Rynenzo — Nigeria
Rynenzo, commonly called Enzo, has approximately 232,100 Twitch followers. Unlike creators who entered streaming with large entertainment audiences, he built much of his community around consistent gaming and interactive broadcasts.
His growth from a small Twitch account to more than 200,000 followers demonstrates the value of consistency and community building. Appearances involving prominent musicians, including Rema, have also expanded his reach beyond gaming audiences.
5. Peller — Nigeria
Peller has approximately 231,200 followers on Kick, placing him narrowly behind Rynenzo when the ranking is based on each creator’s largest platform.
He first became widely known through TikTok livestreaming before expanding to Kick. As one of Kick’s most recognisable Nigerian creators, Peller represents a younger generation of mobile-first entertainers whose audiences follow them across multiple platforms. His rapid growth also shows that Twitch is no longer the only viable platform for African streamers.
6. Rachel Kay — South Africa
Rachel Kay has approximately 143,500 Twitch followers and remains one of Africa’s most established female gaming streamers.
Based in Cape Town, she is known for polished broadcasts featuring role-playing and survival games. Her channel demonstrates a more traditional gaming-led streaming model, supported by strong production and a community that extends beyond South Africa.
7. Ojo — Nigeria
Ojo, known online as ojo_isAboy, has approximately 83,600 Twitch followers. His content is built around community participation, matchmaking, conversations and highly interactive livestreams.
Although his follower total is smaller than those of the top six creators, his recent growth and strong live engagement make him an important figure in Nigeria’s expanding streaming ecosystem.
8. Salma Hassan — Egypt
Salma Hassan, who streams as The_Salma, has approximately 78,400 Twitch followers. She is one of Egypt’s most visible gaming creators and broadcasts primarily in Arabic.
Her channel stands out for its consistency. She maintains an active schedule across gaming and conversational content, helping her serve audiences in Egypt and the wider Middle East and North Africa region.
9. Lord Lamba — Nigeria
Lord Lamba has approximately 49,200 Twitch followers. Already known for comedy and skits, he has been working to transfer his broader social-media audience into livestreaming.
His position highlights an important challenge for established influencers. Millions of followers on short-form platforms do not automatically become regular livestream viewers. Streaming requires longer attention, continuous interaction and a different community strategy.
10. AliasV — South Africa and Canada
AliasV completes the ranking with approximately 34,000 Twitch followers. She is particularly associated with Magic: The Gathering content, tournament hosting and professional esports commentary.
Her career reflects the international side of African streaming, where creators with roots in the continent can build specialised audiences across global gaming communities.
