Benjamin Sesko Dump Newcastle to Sign Deal Manchester United

Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko has turned down interest from Newcastle United to seal a major transfer to Manchester United, in a move worth nearly £74 million.

The 22-year-old, who made his mark at RB Leipzig with 39 goals in 87 games, has opted to join the Red Devils despite strong pursuit from the Magpies.

United have agreed a deal with Leipzig that includes a guaranteed £66.3 million fee, with the rest coming through performance-based add-ons.

Standing at 6ft 5in, Sesko brings a rare combination of height, power, and finesse, qualities United manager Erik ten Hag is keen to add to his front line ahead of the new season.

The towering forward is expected to complete his medical and finalise personal terms before officially joining the club.

Sesko’s arrival is the latest in a summer of attacking reinforcements for Manchester United, who have already spent around £130 million to secure Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

With Rasmus Hojlund now deemed surplus to requirements and available for transfer at £30 million, United’s front line is clearly undergoing a major reshuffle.

Also on the chopping block is Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho, with Chelsea expressing interest and a potential £50 million bid being considered.

United’s squad overhaul seems focused on bringing in proven performers, and Sesko’s goal-scoring record in the Bundesliga has made him a prime target.

For Newcastle, Sesko’s snub adds to a growing list of transfer frustrations. After missing out on Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool, the Magpies now face the possibility of losing star striker Alexander Isak to the same club.

Sesko had been identified as a key option to bolster their attack, but United’s financial power and project proved more convincing.

With the deal nearly done, Manchester United fans can look forward to a new era of firepower and possibly a more dominant presence in the Premier League title race. As for Sesko, the stage at Old Trafford awaits.
