Dangote Offers N500,000 Reward for Reports on Illegal Truck Haulage

Dangote Industries Limited has introduced a whistleblowing programme that will pay ₦500,000 to anyone whose credible information leads to the arrest of people using Dangote-branded trucks for illegal haulage or the recovery of unauthorised goods.

The company said the initiative is part of efforts to protect its logistics network and stop individuals from using its trucks to transport products that do not belong to the group.

Dangote Industries urged members of the public to report suspicious haulage activities involving its vehicles across the country.

Company lists approved cargo for Dangote trucks

The company clarified that trucks belonging to each of its subsidiaries are authorised to carry only specific products.

Dangote Cement trucks are permitted to transport cement, limestone, high-grade gypsum, coal and clinker.

Trucks operated by Dangote Sugar Refinery are restricted to sugar products, while vehicles belonging to NASCON Allied Industries are authorised to carry Dangote Salt and DanQ seasoning products.

Dangote Packaging trucks are designated for bags and other packaging materials.

Vehicles operated by Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals are permitted to transport polypropylene products, while Dangote Fertiliser trucks are authorised to carry urea fertiliser.

Any Dangote-branded truck found transporting goods outside these approved categories will be treated as being involved in illegal haulage.

Drivers and cargo owners risk prosecution

Dangote Industries warned that drivers and owners of unauthorised goods could face arrest, cargo confiscation and prosecution under applicable laws.

The company said law enforcement agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, have been authorised to arrest drivers found using its trucks for unauthorised commercial activities.

The group maintained that it has zero tolerance for fraud and other illegal practices connected to its logistics operations.

Whistleblowers must provide verifiable details

People reporting suspected illegal haulage are expected to provide enough information to support an investigation.

Useful details include the type of truck, registration number, cab number, colour, current location and a description of the goods being transported.

Photographs of the truck and cargo may also be submitted where available.

Dangote said it has created dedicated reporting channels for cases involving trucks operating from its Obajana, Okpella and Gboko plants.

The ₦500,000 reward will be paid only where the information provided is verified and leads to an arrest or the recovery of unauthorised goods.

Initiative targets repeated misuse of company trucks

This is not the first time Dangote Industries has sought public support in tackling the illegal use of its vehicles.

In May 2020, the company asked Nigerians to report Dangote-branded trucks transporting products not linked to the group.

At the time, it also requested details such as vehicle registration numbers, cab numbers, locations, cargo descriptions and photographs.

The latest initiative expands that earlier campaign by introducing a financial incentive for credible reports.

Dangote Industries said public cooperation would help protect its assets, strengthen lawful logistics operations and ensure that offenders are held accountable.
