DMO Raises ₦5.86 Billion as Savings Bond Demand Dips

The Debt Management Office (DMO) raised ₦5.86 billion through the Federal Government of Nigeria Savings Bond (FGNSB) in August.

The figure represents a decline in investor appetite compared to the previous month, where the DMO secured ₦6.19 billion in July.

The dip in the amount raised indicates a cooling of demand among retail investors for the savings bond instrument during the August window.

The FGN Savings Bond is designed to provide a low-entry investment opportunity for individual Nigerians to lend to the federal government in exchange for fixed interest payments.

This latest performance reflects the current trends in domestic borrowing and investor sentiment toward short-term government securities.
