EAP- 2nd Annual Masters of the Industry Awards Banquet

February 26, 2013

Jacksonville, FL –  Entrepreneurs Anchor magazine presents its second annual Masters of the Industry Awards Banquet on Friday, May 3, at 6 p.m., at the Hyatt Regency, Jacksonville Waterfront Hotel.

Following last year’s highly successful inaugural event, the First Coast business publication again recognizes and celebrates outstanding businesses and individuals that have significantly impacted the region.

“Entrepreneurs Anchor’s Masters of the Industry Awards has shone a light on the most innovative and successful regional business and individuals by promoting success, innovation and forward-thinking in the First Coast business community,” says the magazine’s founder and publisher, Ethelbert Nwanegbo. “Last year, we engaged over 350 professionals in the region, and showcased a diverse range of award winners from manufacturing, engineering, IT, transportation, marketing/public relations, retail, banking, law, non-profits and other fields.” This year, states Nwanegbo, by moving the event across the St. Johns River to the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville, it expects at least 500 participants from corporations and nonprofit entities throughout the First Coast.

For the first time ever, there will be a “Lifetime Achievement” Award presented to Wally Lee III, former JAX Chamber of President, who, among his multitude of accomplishments, played a significant role in bringing the Jacksonville Jaguars to town and spearheaded the city as a Super Bowl host. Lee also championed Downtown development, civil rights and was instrumental in helping major corporations relocate to Jacksonville.

Explains Nwanegbo: “Lee was a visionary and dedicated over 23 years towards  making Jacksonville a more vibrant, sophisticated metropolis – both in terms of increasing commerce/trade as well expanding the region’s cultural milieu. His indefatigable efforts and indelible contributions have forever improved our city’s stature in the state and nation.”

Nwanegbo adds that a “Special Appreciation” award will be given to David Moorefield, founder and CEO of DAK Resources, for its continued to service to our veterans.

Additional Award Categories:

  • Innovative Company of the Year
  • International Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Business of the Year (with business growth of 1,000% or higher in the last three years)
  • Business of the Year (with profits of $1-25 million)
  • Environmental and Corporate Sustainability
  • International Growth Strategy
  • Customer Focus
  • Employer of the Year

There are several reasons to participate, Nwanegbo continues. “Firms can demonstrate pride in their achievements and boost the morale of its staff and stakeholders. And from a networking standpoint, they can interact with high-level representatives from numerous and varied industries.” Lastly, he points out, businesses and individuals can benefit from the media coverage before, during and after the awards banquet.
