Sanwo-Olu Adds Two New Cabinet Members

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, added two new cabinet members to his administration on Wednesday, further strengthening his executive team. The new cabinet members, Mr. Abiodun Ogunleye and Mr. Olufemi Daramola were officially sworn in during a ceremony held at the Exco Chamber in Lagos House, Ikeja.

Mr. Ogunleye assumes the role of Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, while Mr. Daramola has been appointed as the Special Adviser on Infrastructure.

During the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Sanwo-Olu encouraged the newly appointed cabinet members to immediately immerse themselves in their roles and strive to elevate their responsibilities to meet the expectations of the people of Lagos State. He expressed confidence in their ability to add value to the administration, emphasizing that they had been carefully chosen for their roles.

Governor Sanwo-Olu commended Mr. Daramola for his dedication and tenacity, citing him as an example for other public officers and civil servants. He highlighted that the Lagos State Executive Council was not limited to external appointees and that individuals who had performed admirably within the civil service could also attain such positions.

He also spoke highly of Mr. Ogunleye, recognizing his energy and expertise, which made him the ideal candidate for the position of Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources. The governor stressed the importance of this ministry in leading discussions for the unbundling of the energy sector and expressed confidence that Mr. Ogunleye would contribute significantly to achieving energy sufficiency in Lagos.

In his response, Mr. Ogunleye expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the Lagos State Government. He pledged his commitment to ensuring the realization of the government’s “Themes” agenda, which aims to address the needs and aspirations of Lagosians.

The addition of Mr. Ogunleye and Mr. Daramola to the state’s executive cabinet reflects Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to strengthening governance and addressing key issues such as energy sufficiency and infrastructure development in Lagos State.
