Nigeria’s 10 most downloaded bank apps in July 2026
Nigeria’s banking battle has moved from physical branches to mobile phones, where speed, reliability, and user experience increasingly determine customer loyalty.
With more Nigerians completing transfers, paying bills, and managing accounts through smartphones, banks now compete as much on app performance as they do on branch networks, pricing, and balance-sheet strength.
Google Play data shows that Access More, UBA Mobile Banking, FirstMobile and Zenith Mobile have crossed 10 million downloads, placing them among the country’s most widely adopted banking apps.
The ranking below uses cumulative Google Play download bands as of July 2026. Where apps share the same download threshold, ratings and review volumes help determine their positions.
10. ALAT by Wema Bank
Downloads: 1 million+
Rating: 3.9 stars
Reviews: 49,000+
Wema Bank launched ALAT in 2017 as Nigeria’s first fully digital bank, targeting younger customers who preferred smartphones to banking halls.
The platform helped position Wema as an early mover in digital banking, despite being one of Nigeria’s oldest financial institutions.
ALAT has attracted more than one million downloads and over 49,000 reviews. However, its 3.9-star rating is the lowest among the apps on the list, suggesting that user experience remains an area for improvement.

9. KeyMobile by Keystone Bank
Downloads: 1 million+
Rating: 4.0 stars
Reviews: 9,000+
KeyMobile serves Keystone Bank’s retail and business customers through transfers, payments and other digital banking services.
Keystone Bank was established in 2011 after the resolution of Bank PHB and has since expanded its retail, corporate and small-business operations.
The app has crossed one million downloads, but its review count remains relatively low compared with other platforms in the same band.
Its 4.0-star rating indicates moderate customer satisfaction, although the bank still trails larger competitors in visible user engagement.

8. Stanbic IBTC Mobile
Downloads: 1 million+
Rating: 4.2 stars
Reviews: 2,000+
Stanbic IBTC Mobile supports customers across a financial-services group with interests in banking, pensions, insurance, asset management and stockbroking.
The bank operates as part of Standard Bank Group, one of Africa’s largest financial institutions by assets.
Its app has more than one million downloads and a 4.2-star rating.
However, the platform has recorded only about 2,000 reviews, the lowest total among the apps ranked. This suggests a smaller review-active customer base despite Stanbic IBTC’s broad financial-services footprint.

7. Fidelity Online Banking
Downloads: 1 million+
Rating: 4.2 stars
Reviews: 51,000+
Fidelity Bank’s mobile app has more than one million downloads and over 51,000 reviews.
The review volume is one of the highest among apps in the one million-plus category, indicating a relatively active digital customer base.
Fidelity Bank, established in 1988, has grown into a full-service commercial bank serving retail, corporate and small-business customers.
Its 4.2-star app rating places it ahead of several competitors within the same download band.

6. FCMB Mobile
Downloads: 5 million+
Rating: 4.3 stars
Reviews: 34,000+
FCMB Mobile has crossed five million downloads, giving First City Monument Bank a strong position among Nigeria’s mid-tier lenders.
The app carries a 4.3-star rating based on more than 34,000 reviews.
FCMB has expanded from its merchant-banking roots into retail, corporate, and investment banking. It also serves diaspora customers through FCMB Bank UK.
Its digital performance shows that banks without the country’s largest branch networks can still build significant mobile adoption.

5. GTWorld by Guaranty Trust Bank
Downloads: 5 million+
Rating: 4.5 stars
Reviews: 157,000+
GTWorld ranks as the strongest app in the five million-plus download category.
The app has a 4.5-star rating and more than 157,000 reviews, significantly ahead of FCMB Mobile in user engagement.
Guaranty Trust Bank has built much of its brand around digital innovation, service efficiency and a relatively lean branch model.
GTWorld’s rating suggests that the bank has maintained strong customer approval while serving users across Nigeria and other markets where GTBank operates.

4. Zenith Mobile
Downloads: 10 million+
Rating: 4.2 stars
Reviews: 50,000+
Zenith Mobile has crossed the 10 million-download mark, placing it among Nigeria’s most widely used banking apps.
The platform benefits from Zenith Bank’s large corporate and retail customer base, as well as its international operations.
However, its 4.2-star rating is the lowest among the four apps in the 10 million-plus band.
The rating suggests that adoption has not fully translated into the same level of user satisfaction recorded by Access More, UBA Mobile Banking and FirstMobile.

3. FirstMobile by FirstBank
Downloads: 10 million+
Rating: 4.5 stars
Reviews: 90,000+
FirstMobile has more than 10 million downloads and a 4.5-star rating from over 90,000 reviews.
The app benefits from FirstBank’s large customer base and more than a century of banking operations in Nigeria.
FirstBank, founded in 1894, has used digital channels to extend services beyond its traditional branch network.
FirstMobile’s performance shows that established banks can retain market relevance by converting long-standing customer relationships into digital adoption.

UBA Mobile Banking
Downloads: 10 million+
Rating: 4.5 stars
Reviews: 277,000+
UBA Mobile Banking has crossed 10 million downloads and attracted more than 277,000 reviews.
Its 4.5-star rating places it among Nigeria’s highest-rated major bank apps.
UBA’s operations across 20 African countries, alongside its presence in the United Kingdom, France and the United States, give the app access to a broad international customer base.
Its high review volume suggests strong engagement across UBA’s expanding retail banking network.

1. Access More by Access Bank
Downloads: 10 million+
Rating: 4.5 stars
Reviews: 746,000+
Access More leads the ranking with more than 10 million downloads and over 746,000 reviews.
No other Nigerian bank app in the same download band has attracted a comparable number of Google Play reviews.
The platform’s 4.5-star rating also indicates that Access Bank has combined scale with relatively strong user satisfaction.
Access Bank’s merger with Diamond Bank in 2019 significantly expanded its retail customer base. Its continued expansion across Africa and international markets has also supported adoption of the app.
The review gap between Access More and its competitors highlights the scale of the bank’s digitally active customer base.

What the ranking shows
The data shows that Nigeria’s largest banks continue to dominate mobile banking adoption.
Access Bank, UBA, FirstBank and Zenith Bank all have apps with more than 10 million downloads, reflecting their large customer bases and extensive market reach.
However, download size alone does not guarantee a better user experience.
Zenith Mobile, for example, has crossed 10 million downloads but carries a lower rating than GTWorld, which remains in the five million-plus band.
Review volume also provides useful evidence of engagement. Access More’s 746,000 reviews place it far ahead of other apps, while Stanbic IBTC Mobile has only about 2,000 despite crossing one million downloads.
For banks, the competition is no longer simply about convincing customers to download an app. The bigger challenge is providing a platform that remains fast, stable and secure as transaction volumes increase.
Why this matters
Mobile banking apps have become critical infrastructure for Nigerian households and businesses.
When an app experiences downtime, failed transfers, or delayed reversals, the impact extends beyond customer inconvenience. It can disrupt business payments, household spending, and commercial activity.
Banks with reliable apps can reduce pressure on physical branches, lower service costs and retain customers who may otherwise move to fintech platforms.
The ranking also shows why Nigerian banks must continue investing in cybersecurity, transaction capacity and customer support.
As digital adoption increases, customers will judge banks less by the number of branches they operate and more by whether their apps work when needed.
How the ranking was compiled
This ranking uses publicly available Google Play Store information as of July 2026.
Google Play reports downloads in broad cumulative bands such as one million-plus, five million-plus and 10 million-plus. It does not disclose the exact number of downloads within each category.
Apps within the same band were ranked using their star ratings and total review counts.
The data covers Google Play only and does not include Apple App Store downloads. Ratings, review totals and download thresholds may change over time.
