Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, has defended his absence from the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference held in Port Harcourt, describing the gathering as a “jamboree.”
The former governor expressed his disapproval of the event, alleging that the organisers were playing politics. According to Wike, the conference was being utilised as a platform to provide opposition parties with a ground to promote and sell themselves.
In a video report by Channels Television, Wike maintained that he does not participate in such events, suggesting that the professional nature of the conference had been compromised by political interests.
