Airtel Nigeria Surpasses 17,000 Cell Sites in Network Push

Airtel Nigeria has surpassed 17,000 cell sites as it accelerates the deployment of its network across the country to boost mobile connectivity.

The telecommunications operator is currently approaching the 18,000-cell-site mark, according to reports from Nairametrics. This growth is driven by a strategy to add more than 1,000 new sites annually.

The expansion is specifically designed to extend high-speed mobile connectivity deeper into rural communities, reducing the digital divide and increasing the operator’s footprint in underserved areas.

By scaling its infrastructure at this pace, Airtel aims to improve network quality and capacity for its expanding subscriber base across Nigeria’s diverse geographic regions.
