Nigerian Players who Moved to the Premier League this Window
Three Super Eagles attackers sealed moves to the Premier League, each filling a different need for his new club and underlining how highly English sides now rate Nigerian talent.
Here are the Nigerian players who moved to the Premier League this window:
Christantus Uche – Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace landed 22-year-old attacking midfielder/forward Christantus Uche from Getafe on a season-long loan that becomes permanent next summer for a fee reported to be around £17m.
Palace structured the deal as an initial loan to meet deadline-day needs, with an obligation to buy in 2026.
Uche’s rise has been rapid, and Palace view him as a direct-line runner who can carry the ball through midfield and link with Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.
Tolu Arokodare – Wolves
Wolves secured Tolu Arokodare from Genk after the 24-year-old finished last season as the Belgian Pro League’s top scorer. Reports put the fee near £24m.
At 6ft 6in, Arokodare offers a classic focal point up front and should complement Wolves’ mobile wide forwards while giving them a set-piece threat they lacked.
Samuel Chukwueze – Fulham
Fulham completed a season-long loan for Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan, with an option to make the move permanent.
The Nigerian winger brings top-level experience and one-v-one pace, and he joins a growing Nigerian contingent at Craven Cottage. The option has been reported in the €25–30m range.
