Omokri Raises Concern Over Tinubu’s Whereabouts
Reno Omokri, a socio-political activist and one of the spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has raised some fresh concerns over the whereabouts of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president-elect in the 2023 general elections.
According to him, it’s been weeks after his departure from the country following the end of the presidential and gubernatorial election, having raised concern over the whereabouts of the president-elect, Bola Tinubu.
Recall that a statement issued on 23rd of March by Tunde Rahman of the Office of the President-Elect said that Tinubu traveled to France where he would plan his transition programme.
Some party stakeholders, especially from the opposition parties have questioned his whereabouts.
Reno equally agreed and said that Tinubu has not made any public appearance in the last one month.
He wrote, “Where is Tinubu? He has not been seen in public for a month. That is the question we should be asking.
Reno also urged NIgerians not to be distracted by the issue of his dual citizenship which he believed to be a deliberate distraction from Tinubu’s supporters to divert everyone’s attention from questions related to his whereabouts.
Recall that David Hundeyin, an investigative journalist posted an image which showcased that the president-elect has a Guinea Passport which could make him lose his mandate.
He asked the netizens not to fall for the distraction. He said anyone with evidence of his dual citizenship should take it to court, knowing fully well it would not stand in court.
“It is a red herring. They know it won’t stand in court. But it has achieved the purpose it was meant to serve. Distraction! So again, I ask, where is Tinubu?”, he said.
Meanwhile, Mr Felix Morka, the All Progressives Congress, APC National Publicity Secretary, said on April 14 when asked about the whereabouts of Tinubu while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme that the president-elect is resting in Europe.
Morka said, “He [Tinubu] is probably in Europe. He’s fine. After the elections and all of the energy expended, he just decided to take a moment of rest.
