Rasheedat Ajibade Joins PSG from Super Falcons

Nigerian international Rasheedat Ajibade has completed a high-profile move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain Féminines, marking a new chapter in her blossoming career.

The Super Falcons forward, popularly known as “Mummy G.O.,” has signed a contract that will keep her in Paris until June 2027.

The transfer also reunites her with compatriot Jennifer Echegini, giving PSG fans another reason to keep an eye on the Nigerian connection in their squad.

It is a dream move to France

Speaking after her unveiling, Ajibade described the move as a defining moment in her career. “I’m honoured to join Paris Saint-Germain, a club with big ambitions and strong history in European football,” she said.

“This is a major step for me, and I’m ready to give everything to help the team win trophies while also inspiring young footballers back home and around the world.”

Her words reflect not just personal excitement but also a sense of responsibility, as she continues to be a role model for aspiring African players.

From Lagos streets to Paris lights

Born in Mushin, Lagos, Ajibade’s football journey began with FC Robo Queens before she took her first leap abroad to Avaldsnes IL in Norway. Her real breakthrough, however, came at Atlético Madrid Femenino, where she spent four and a half seasons.

At Atleti, she quickly became a key player, scoring 40 goals in 139 matches and helping the team secure the 2021 Spanish Super Cup and the 2023 Copa de la Reina.

In her final season in Spain, she registered eight goals and three assists in 25 appearances, proving her consistency in front of goal.

Ajibade is a leader for club and country

Ajibade’s influence extends beyond club football. Just weeks before sealing her move to PSG, she captained the Super Falcons to their record 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title. She was voted Player of the Tournament, underlining her growing stature as one of Africa’s most influential female footballers.

She also represented Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where the Falcons reached the round of 16, and was part of the team that competed at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

What PSG Gains

For PSG, Ajibade brings pace, versatility, and a proven eye for goal. Her ability to operate both as a striker and an attacking midfielder will strengthen their attack as they continue to push for domestic dominance and European success.

With her arrival, the French side not only gains a talented forward but also one of the most inspirational African players of her generation.
