An explosion at the Gunvor refinery in the port of Rotterdam has killed one person and left several others injured.
The blast occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, within the Europoort industrial section of the facility. Authorities in the Netherlands have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
The explosion struck an oil facility located in the Europoort area, which is a critical hub within Europe’s largest port. Emergency services responded to the scene to manage the casualties and secure the site.
