Nigerian troops have rescued two kidnap victims and apprehended a suspected drug peddler during recent security operations spanning Kaduna and Sokoto states.
The military confirmed that the suspect was intercepted while travelling towards Birnin Gwari during the recent arrest and rescue operation. Both the suspect and the items recovered during the mission are currently in military custody.
Authorities are investigating the suspect’s potential links to organised crime syndicates or bandit groups operating within the North-West corridor. The rescue of the two individuals is being treated as a priority in the ongoing effort to neutralise criminal elements in the region.
